T-SHIRT CARE
At Eshe we take pride in our t-shirts we produce. We are pretty fussy with it comes to the choosing the best fabric, cut and print on our tees. As avid Tee collectors ourselves we have come up with a few hints and tips to keep your Eshe tee looking it’s best.
First buy the correct size. Nobody likes the Simon Cowell look. Also avoid yanking it over your head, all that stretching around your neck and shoulders can f@*k up the seams and ruin the shape of your tee. Also to avoid those yellowish stains around the collar and armpits, wait until your underarms are completely dry before putting your tee on. Then, launder the shirt as soon as you’re done wearing it, especially if stained.
WASHING
Always wash inside out! We recommend washing in cold water as the safest washing method, however detergents can function better at higher water temperatures, so if you are a little daring you can wash in warm water only! (Hot water will cause shrinkage). To keep whites whiter, don't overload the washing machine. Remember to wash with like colours only and keep whites to themselves! To help restore original whiteness, track down a bluing agent, like Mrs. Stewart's Bluing, which counteracts yellowing. For stubborn discolorations and stains, as soon as possible try making a paste from a super-detergent such as Napisan. Let it sit for a while and then launder as usual. You can also use a fabric softener, which can minimize wrinkles.
DRYING.
Use the permanent-press cycle for drying and remove clothes as soon as the dryer shuts off. This keeps the shirt wrinkle free and you won’t need to bust out the iron. If you didn’t remember to remove the T-shirt from the dryer in time, and this happens to the best of us. Just set your iron to “low” or “cotton” and carefully iron the inside out t-shirt. Careful ironing the inside of the print and never iron the nylon labels, however a good rule is to never iron any logos. An overheated, overzealous ironer can ruin the prints we have lovingly made for you.
STORING YOUR T-SHIRTS.
We shouldn’t really need to spell out the obvious, but keep your tees folded in a dry place away from the direct sunlight. We didn’t put all the effort into our tees so they could be chucked into a pile in the corner of some damp room!
Enjoy!

Where are the Eshe T-Shirts made?
We proudly screen print all our t-shirts in New Zealand, by our actual friends in Auckland. But unfortunatly we cannot manufacture the t-shirts in New Zealand and it is a cost factor. As New Zealand is far away from the source of the raw cotton and the size of our market, we just don't have the factories set up to produce the fabric or the tubular knit we use. A t-shirt seems so simple, but it is hard getting the fabric & cut just right. With over 20 years experience, we know what we want in a t-shirt.
Our t-shirts use a 180gsm pre-shrunk cotton jersey fabric. We chose 180gsm as the ideal weight, still beefy, but not too heavy for summer. The neck and body are both seemless for comfort and keep a better shape. We have worked hard to find fit that is just right, it's not too tight and not too loose. Like we said, just right.
Our t-shirts are manufactured for us in Central America and we use only factories that have been accredited to ensure our products are made in ethically sound and safe facilities with fair labour policies in place. Also our factories use a eco-friendly manufacturing process minimize waste and to process the waste. Our factories use a treatment system that uses gravity and microorganisms to virtually eliminate all the dyes and chemicals to recycle the waste water and share with local agri-businesses.
We are not perfect, but we do what we can to share the love and not be corporate f*@kwits.
A teaser of some secret new projects we are working on. ssssh don't tell anyone, OK.!?
